The term green gas does not simply apply to biomethane, but to gas whose ‘green’ origin is confirmed by EU certification. Such gas is sold in Europe at a premium of about 15-20% to regular natural gas.

The contractor will be required to work out the conditions for a pilot project, assess the resource base, analyse the potential market and its scale, identify groups of target customers, recommend the scale of production, and select a production site taking into account availability of resources and gas transport infrastructure.

Various business models will be considered for the project. Gazprom will either be an investor throughout the added value chain or will buy all of the green gas produced. The revenue side will be considered in terms of selling the gas on the domestic market and exporting, with and without addition revenue from the sale of environmental certificates for green gas in the EU.

The company is considering building biogas plants in the Volga, South, Central and Northwest federal districts of Russia.

Following the study, recommendations will be worked out on the advisability and format of further work on the project. The client for the study is Gazprom’s prospective development department.

Gazprom estimates potential production of green gas at up to 35 billion cubic meters per year.

Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) is selecting a contractor to prepare an “investment plan for a project to produce ‘green gas’ in Russia with the possibility of organizing its subsequent export to the European Union.” The study is being conducted pursuant to a memorandum Gazprom signed in 2011 with Gasunie, BioGazEnergoStroy and Evrotekhnika on the joint implementation […]

[5572

5853,2662,5852
post-17664","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-bio-based","supplier-biogazenergostroy","supplier-gazprom","supplier-nederlandse-gasunie
["GET
