The work then forms part of Formula 1\u2019s Event Sustainability Management system which is externally accredited via Formula 1\u2019s ISO 20121:2012 certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biodiversity is an increasingly important focus within event delivery. In 2025, initiatives range from Spa\u2019s Circuitsp\u2019Adventure nature walk and Mexico City\u2019s Butterfly Effect campaign on the endangered Monarch Butterfly through to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya\u2019s six-year forest programme supporting youth training, and the Canadian promoter\u2019s work to map and protect local species. This year, to mark Chinese Arbor Day, the Shanghai promoter, supported by BWT Alpine Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly, held a special ceremony in the Championship Garden to plant a native <em>Osmanthus<\/em> tree, reinforcing its long-term environmental commitment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By becoming a member of the CBA, Formula 1 demonstrates its increasing focus on nature in sustainable event delivery and amplify pioneering innovation solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said:<\/strong> \u201cFormula 1 is proud to become a member of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance. In recent years, the sport has made great progress in its Net Zero 2030 commitment, as shown in the 2025 Sustainability Report, where we announced a 26% reduction in carbon emissions in 2024 from the 2018 baseline. However, in Formula 1, we must always look forward, and joining the CBA marks the next step in our sustainability journey. I would like to thank His Majesty King Charles III for his vision and leadership in being such a passionate champion of this important initiative. I look forward to working with CEO of the CBA, Marc Palah\u00ed, and his team as we look to use Formula 1 to drive positive and meaningful change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ellen Jones, Head of ESG at Formula 1, said:<\/strong> \u201cFormula 1\u2019s sustainability strategy has been rooted in delivery and focussed on achieving our goals through collaborations within our sport. By becoming a member of the CBA, Formula 1 is now developing cross-sector collaborations which will build on our strong delivery foundations and collaborations within F1. By working with fellow CBA members to integrate and elevate nature-based solutions within the sport, we look forward to continuing to drive innovative solutions that build a more sustainable Formula 1.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marc Palah\u00ed, CEO of the CBA, said:<\/strong> \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Formula 1 as a CBA Affiliate Member and are very much looking forward to working together with them to demonstrate the business case for nature in our economy.
