Its legal name will change to \u201ccirplus GmbH i.L.\u201d to reflect its liquidation status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creditors have been asked to contact the company by email to assert and settle any valid claims by 31 March 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject to the completion of liquidation requirements, the company is expected to be removed from the commercial register from 1 April 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cirplus GmbH<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cirplus GmbH was founded in 2018 in Germany by Christian Schiller and Volkan Bilici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company developed a business-to-business digital marketplace designed to facilitate the trade of recycled plastics across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its platform aggregates and qualifies manufacturers and traders supplying recycled pellets, regrind and related materials, providing buyers with simplified access to high volumes in what is typically a fragmented market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company, more than 3,000 companies from over 100 countries across the plastics and recycling industries have used the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>European plastic recycling sector under pressure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The liquidation comes during a difficult period for Europe\u2019s plastics recycling industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Industry body Plastics Recyclers Europe reported that the sector experienced its \u201csharpest decline\u201d in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.letsrecycle.com\/news\/european-plastics-recycling-sector-saw-sharpest-decline-in-2024\/\">its Plastics Recycling Industry Figures 2024<\/a>&nbsp;report, the organisation said recycling facilities representing roughly 300 kilotonnes of annual capacity were forced to close during the year \u2013 the largest contraction ever recorded by the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preliminary figures for 2025 suggest conditions have deteriorated further. Facility closures are estimated to have risen by around 50%, resulting in the loss of nearly one million tonnes of recycling capacity across Europe over the past three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The industry organisation warned in August 2025 that the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.letsrecycle.com\/news\/eu-plastics-recycling-industry-warns-of-imminent-collapse\/\">sector is facing \u201cimminent collapse\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a notice issued by the company, it confirmed that it will enter liquidation as of 31 March 2026 following a shareholders\u2019 resolution that was notarised on 6 March 2026.
