This marks the world\u2019s first use of biodegradable artificial turf made with Green Planet in this application <sup>(*1)<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green Planet is a 100% biomass-derived biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka based on our desire to provide environmentally friendly solutions that do not depend on petroleum resources. Due to its biodegradability into CO<sub>2<\/sub> and water by microorganisms living in soil and seawater, it can contribute to solving the problem of marine plastic pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artificial turf can break down into fragments that can unintentionally flow into the ocean and become microplastics, harming marine ecosystems. This is a growing concern. More than 90% of the resin used in the turf blades is derived from biomass, enabling a reduction in CO\u2082\u00a0emissions compared with petroleum-based artificial turf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the renovation of Vantelin Dome Nagoya, the home stadium of the Chunichi Dragons, Nagoya Dome Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya; President: Uichiro Oshima) has decided to adopt Mizuno\u2019s artificial turf made with Green Planet for the stadium\u2019s warning zone. In addition to its biodegradability and biomass-based characteristics, the product was highly evaluated for its safety for play, durability, and cushioning performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on our mission of KANEKA thinks \u201cWellness First\u201d, Kaneka provides value globally as a solution provider.
