During the most recent Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress, Joshua Lin, technical sales manager for DuPont\u2122 Sorona\u00ae, shared performance datahighlighting the benefits of fabrics made with Sorona\u00ae air textured yarn (ATY). For seamless garments, fabrics made with Sorona\u00ae fiber move moisture on the fabric surface to increase evaporation and cooling and keep garments from sticking to the skin. Results also show when exposed to 40 hours of UV rays, Sorona\u00ae fiber achieves a 3.0 pass rating for colorfastness.<\/p>\n
This year, the company also is highlighting a variety of insulation materials made with DuPont\u2122 Sorona\u00ae fiber as an alternative to down and feather filling. The introduction of these insulation materials provide apparel designers with a safe and stable source of supply for staple fiber-fill and down-like insulation. Insulation made with Sorona\u00ae fiber can be made in a variety of specifications. The use of Sorona\u00ae fiber creates more elegant, lightweight garments and offers the same unique compression and recovery characteristics that customers need.<\/p>\n
Comfort stretch fiber is a trend that is not going away. Garments made with DuPont\u2122 Sorona\u00ae fiber, continue to provide excellent stretch and recovery that keeps the garments in good form, a classic attribute that is necessary in today\u2019s apparel market.<\/p>\n
