The assessment covers both virgin PLA &#8211; derived from sugarcane -and recycled PLA sourced from post-consumer and post-industrial waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Virgin Luminy\u00ae PLA\u00a0has a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 0.29 kg CO\u2082-eq per kg, including biogenic carbon stored in the product \u2013 an\u00a085% reduction\u00a0compared to conventional plastics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With\u00a030% recycled content, Luminy\u00ae PLA already achieves\u00a0carbon neutrality\u00a0(0.01 kg CO\u2082-eq per kg).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100% recycled Luminy\u00ae PLA\u00a0goes even further, with a footprint of\u00a0-0.65 kg CO\u2082-eq per kg, \u2013 a negative carbon footprint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThanks to years of innovation and process optimization, we\u2019re now offering PLA grades with even lower carbon footprint,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Thomas
