{"id":16526,"date":"2013-04-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-04-15T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bio-based.eu\/news\/index.php?startid=20130416-07n"},"modified":"2013-04-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-04-15T22:00:00","slug":"roundtable-on-sustainable-biofuels-expands-to-all-biomaterials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/roundtable-on-sustainable-biofuels-expands-to-all-biomaterials\/","title":{"rendered":"Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels expands to all biomaterials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><img SRC=\"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/news-images\/20130416-07\/image_mini.jpg\" align=\"right\" style=\"margin-left:10px;\" BORDER=\"0\" ALT=\"Label\"\/>The Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels has changed its scope to include biomass used in all bio-based products and as a consequence has changed its name to the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The decision to change the scope and name of the company was taken due to the growing demand for certification of biomaterials.<\/p>\n<p>The biomaterials market is growing rapidly and includes a wide range of products, including bioplastics, cosmetics, food additives, bio-based chemicals, as well as biofuels.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the decision, Rolf Hogan, Executive Secretary of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB), said: &#8220;We hope everyone is as excited about this evolution as we are, and that our members and partners will continue to support us as we cover new ground.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our goal remains to provide and promote the global standard for socially, environmentally and economically sustainable production and conversion of biomaterial,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Expanding the scope of RSB to cover all biomaterials, enables the RSB to promote sustainable production in a whole new range of products and markets, said the company.
