This accolade recognises his decades of pioneering work in defossilising the chemical and materials industry, as well as promoting of the sustainable use of renewable carbon. Carus is considered one of the most influential voices in the European bioeconomy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He co-founded the H\u00fcrth-based nova-Institute in 1994. Today, it is one of the leading international research and consulting institutes in the field of renewable carbon economy.&nbsp;For over 30 years, he has been driven by a vision of an economy based on carbon from renewable sources rather than from fossil sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The H\u00fcrth Business Association\u2019s board has unanimously decided to award this year&#8217;s business award to Michael Carus and his team.<a><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe board of the H\u00fcrth Business Association has unanimously decided to give this year&#8217;s Business Award to Michael Carus and his team. Through this award, we wish to recognise their groundbreaking pioneering work, their entrepreneurial courage, and their tireless dedication to forward-thinking issues such as defossilisation and renewable carbon. Through his commitment and his institute, Michael Carus has given these topics international visibility and impact,&#8221; explained <strong>Thomas Kuhlow, member of the board members and head of communications at Yncoris GmbH<\/strong>, in his speech announcing the selection of the award winner.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The award ceremony took place during the Business Reception 2025 at the historic Feierabendhaus in H\u00fcrth near Cologne. The event was attended by numerous representatives from business, politics, and research, who came to congratulate the award winner in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Michael Carus<\/strong> accepted the award in person, expressing his gratitude for the recognition of his work: &#8220;I am delighted to receive this award both personally and on behalf of the entire nova-Institute team. For over three decades, we have been working to replace fossil raw materials with sustainable alternatives.
