DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC today announces the winner of the inaugural Zemea\u00ae Innovation Award program launched on Jan. 3, 2013. Knowlton Development Corp. (KDC) was selected as the winner for its patented Natural Zea deodorant stick platform.<\/b><\/p>\n
Zemea\u00ae propanediol is a natural, 100 percent biobased ingredient made from corn sugar through fermentation and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market. It is a high-performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin, where the product\u2019s lack of skin irritation, improved moisturization and excellent aesthetic properties are benefits. The Zemea\u00ae Innovation Award program is designed to recognize companies who have commercialized innovative cosmetics and personal care ingredients or finished products that contain Zemea\u00ae propanediol. A panel of judges including Tom Branna, vice president and editorial director of HAPPI magazine, Steve Herman, chair of the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists and professor of cosmetic science at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Steve Hurff, vice president of marketing and sales, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, reviewed and evaluated 14 nominations from around the globe.<\/p>\n
