Ltd (JLC) has announced the expansion of two of its Next Generation (Next Gen) Man-Made Cellulosic Fibre (MMCF) product lines, signalling continued investment in low-impact textile innovation within the Chinese MMCF sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The company will increase production of JIRECELL\u2122, a viscose filament yarn made from 70% FSC-certified wood and 30% recycled cotton CIRCULOSE\u00ae pulp, to an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes, with potential for a further 10,000 tonnes per year thereafter. Additionally, JLC will commence commercial-scale production of REBOOCEL, a staple fibre made with 70% FSC-certified bamboo and 30% post-consumer recycled bamboo from furniture, targeting an annual output of 30,000 tonnes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JLC has stated its intention to increase the share of recycled content in JIRECELL\u2122 to 50% by 2028, as part of a growing effort to reduce reliance on forest-derived virgin fibre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cScaling Next Gen MMCF is essential to making the viscose and filament supply chains more resilient and reducing pressure on the world\u2019s forests,\u201d said <strong>Nicole Rycroft, Founder and Executive Director of Canopy<\/strong>. \u201cJilin Chemical Fiber\u2019s latest Next Gen expansions are a positive signal of growing momentum within the sector. We look forward to continued progress in bringing circular, low-impact alternatives to market at the scale this moment demands.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Jilin Chemical Fiber has worked with Canopy since 2019 and was awarded a Dark Green Shirt in the 2024&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/canopyplanet.org\/tools-and-resources\/hot-button-report\"><em>Hot Button Report<\/em><\/a>, which evaluates MMCF producers on their forest sourcing practices and uptake of Next Gen Solutions.
