It explains that the patented technology has been developed to thermally and chemically treat bio-waste streams such as corn waste from ethanol plants to use as a thermoset resin additive. According to Russell Fisher, North American Technical Specialist, “The bio-based extender will offer composite companies a competitive advantage by changing to a green renewable solution that can lower costs”.<\/b><\/p>\n
In addition, LignoTech says its material has a lower specific gravity which is a key competitive advantage by reducing weight. It explains that independent testing in the US has indicated that LignoTech material can replace a portion of the composite materials now used in thermoset matrices.
