Once operational and at full capacity, the plant expects to process 300,000 tons of feedstock into SAF and renewable diesel per year. When in full operation,&nbsp;Topsoe\u2019s technology&nbsp;will expectedly enable an annual emission avoidance of app. 800,000 tons of CO2e \u2013 the equivalent&nbsp;of avoiding the emissions from approximately 160,000 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Elena Scaltritti, Chief Commercial Officer at Topsoe, said:<\/strong> \u201cOur partnership with Chuangui New Energy company is an important milestone for the growth of Topsoe\u2019s SAF offering in China and reflects our commitment to scale SAF production across the globe. Chuangui New Energy Company will actively respond to the national call, committed to energy green low-carbon transformation and sustainable development, to achieve the national green development goals to contribute more strength.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement represents Topsoe\u2019s second SAF project in China, following its selection by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/press-releases\/topsoe-secures-first-sustainable-aviation-fuel-project-in-china\">Guangxi Free Trade Zone Hongkun Biomass Fuel Co., Ltd<\/a>&nbsp;in April 2024. It also follows significant growth in Topsoe\u2019s global SAF offering over the last 10 months, signing agreements with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/press-releases\/topsoe-to-provide-technology-for-one-of-brazils-first-commercial-scale-sustainable-aviation-fuel-production-plants\">Refinaria de Petr\u00f3leo Riograndense<\/a>\u2019 Rio Grande renewable fuels plant in Brazil,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/press-releases\/topsoe-chosen-as-technology-provider-for-holborns-hamburg-renewable-fuels-refinery\">HOLBORN<\/a>\u2019s renewable fuels refinery in Hamburg, Germany,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/press-releases\/topsoes-hydroflex-technology-utilized-by-canadian-startup-braya-renewable-fuels-to-produce-renewable-diesel\">Braya Renewable Fuels\u2019<\/a>&nbsp;Come By Chance plant in Canada and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/press-releases\/topsoe-to-supply-technology-for-one-of-southern-europes-largest-renewable-fuels-plants\">Cepsa Bioenergia San Roque\u2019s<\/a>&nbsp;Palos de la Frontera plant in Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It additionally addresses the rapidly growing demand for SAF. The International Energy Agency\u2019s Net Zero Scenario suggests that over 10% of fuel consumption in aviation needs to be SAF by 2030<sup>1<\/sup>&nbsp;to stay on course for net zero CO<sub>2 <\/sub>emissions by 2050. In July 2023, the International Air Transport Association estimated global SAF production to make up only around 0.2% of total jet fuel demand<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About HydroFlex\u00ae<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.topsoe.com\/our-resources\/knowledge\/our-products\/process-licensing\/hydroflextm-technology\">HydroFlex<\/a>, customers can convert various fats, oils and greases into drop-in renewable jet and diesel that meet all globally accepted specifications for these fuels.
