The new packaging is being produced for all varieties of Lactalis\u2019 Precious\u00ae Sticksters\u00ae brands and features a revolutionary new film material made partially from plant-based plastic. This development is part of Clear Lam\u2019s Project EarthClear\u2122 initiative.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The renewable Precious\u00ae Sticksters\u00ae package is made at Lactalis on horizontal form fill and seal machines. The package, which holds individually sealed cheese sticks, is made from a lamination of plant-based, renewable plastic and an outer layer made from traditional petroleum-based plastic. This new material, which is 50 percent plant-based, generates up to 35.2 percent fewer greenhouse gases and uses up to 36.8 percent less energy than the conventional petroleum-based materials it replaces.
