We now call for the final adoption by the Plenary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the legislative process, Plastics Europe has constantly advocated for ambitious and realistic recycled content targets and supported redesign and reuse when followed by the right enabling framework for a viable and sustainable plastics system. However, data from our latest \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/plasticseurope.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/PE_TheFacts_24_digital-1pager.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Plastics \u2013 the&nbsp;<em>fast<\/em>&nbsp;Facts\u2019&nbsp;<\/a>confirms a worrying decline in EU competitiveness, threatening the circular plastics transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why the prompt adoption and implementation of the PPWR is critical. While we may not agree with every aspect of the final text, it will provide much-needed clarity and stability for European businesses -essential for the swift development and rollout of the secondary legislation, harmonised standards, and guidance documents foreseen under the Regulation.
