The\u00a0company has developed a broad plan of\u00a0initiatives that make cork available to\u00a0society in its most diverse forms, based\u00a0on the company\u2019s technical expertise and\u00a0know-how, thereby encouraging further\u00a0knowledge, discovery and use.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2010,\u00a0Corticeira Amorim launched the Materia\u00a0collection, Cork by Amorim, curated\u00a0by Experimentadesign, which since\u00a0then has formed the basis for a unique\u00a0creative action in the sector, presenting\u00a0cork on the main international design\u00a0stages as it had never been seen before.\u00a0Materia is a collection of sustainable\u00a0objects, that applies new techniques\u00a0and trends to cork, signed by national\u00a0and international creatives, from distinguished figures to emerging designers\u00a0from the world of design. We have seen\u00a0the growing involvement of a remarkable\u00a0community of creative talents, who\u00a0have made it possible to conquer new\u00a0territories for cork. In the context of the\u00a0Materia collection we receive hundreds\u00a0of design, architecture and creativity\u00a0projects, that often link cork and Amorim\u00a0to important educational, social, environmental, cultural or artistic initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the work of Corticeira Amorim,\u00a0cork has progressively gained a place and\u00a0a leading role in initiatives setting the\u00a0design, architecture and sustainability\u00a0agenda worldwide, such as the Serpentine\u00a0Summer Pavilions, the V&amp;A, the Tate\u00a0Modern, the London Design Festival,\u00a0Milan Design Week, the Venice Biennale\u00a0and ARCO Madrid. This strategic action\u00a0plan also focuses on raising awareness of\u00a0cork among the world\u2019s design community\u00a0&#8211; of today and of the future &#8211; by organising\u00a0and taking part in various initiatives, in\u00a0partnership with institutions such as\u00a0the Domaine de Boisbuchet, the Royal\u00a0College of Art, the Karlsruhe Institute\u00a0(Germany), the Nuova Accademia di Belle\u00a0Arti di Milano, the Rhode Island School\u00a0of Design, the Parsons School of Design\u00a0and the Pratt Institute, encompassing\u00a0initiatives, workshops and even multi-year\u00a0programmes on design, architecture and\u00a0technology applied to cork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> As a result,\u00a0many hundreds of students around the\u00a0world come into contact with cork during\u00a0their education, receiving knowledge and\u00a0a real motivation for cork and sustainability. Cork plays a central role in\u00a0this exhibition, from the construction\u00a0of models to the design elements that\u00a0line parts of the gallery walls. Dan Graham and 20th\u00a0Century Architecture<\/a>\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0conceived by\u00a0the late artist, highlights eight architects\u00a0whose work profoundly influenced\u00a0him. Atelier Bow-Wow translated the\u00a0exhibition into a curatorial space, by\u00a0promoting a creative dialogue and\u00a0dynamic interaction between the\u00a0different ideas and forms.
