{"id":14527,"date":"2008-06-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-06-10T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bio-based.eu\/news\/index.php?startid=20080611-05n"},"modified":"2017-12-12T11:14:29","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T10:14:29","slug":"wpc-company-strandex-acquires-toolmaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/wpc-company-strandex-acquires-toolmaker\/","title":{"rendered":"WPC company Strandex acquires toolmaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The US based WPC company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.strandex.com\/\">Strandex Corp.<\/a> has acquired Mount Horeb-based toolmaker Wire Works Inc. and expects to make another purchase soon. &#8220;The new plant will be fully operational in July&#8221;, Al England said in a telephone interview wih <a href=\"http:\/\/www.plasticsnews.com\/\">Plastics News<\/a>. &#8220;Every day, interest in our foamed polyethylene-based and PVC-based composite technologies grows because they present so many new product opportunities,\u201d England said in a news release announcing the deal.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Strandex develops wood-plastic composites technology and licenses it to several lumber extruders. The company\u2019s latest development is called Strancel &#8211; a wood-composite foaming technology producing &#8220;cellular&#8221; WPC the company claims offers all the traditional benefits but with considerably less weight.
