{"id":14412,"date":"2008-01-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-21T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bio-based.eu\/news\/index.php?startid=20080122-03n"},"modified":"2008-01-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-01-21T22:00:00","slug":"france-new-association-for-vegetable-based-chemistry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renewable-carbon.eu\/news\/france-new-association-for-vegetable-based-chemistry\/","title":{"rendered":"France: New association for vegetable-based chemistry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>On January 10, 2008, the French Chemical Industry Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.fr\/\" >UIC<\/a>), the Association of Unions in the Industries of Starch Products and their derivatives (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usipa.fr\/\" >USIPA<\/a>), the Industries and Agro-Resources competitiveness pole (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iar-pole.com\/\" >IAR<\/a>), along with the companies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhodia.com\/\" >Rhodia<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roquette.fr\/\" >Roquette<\/a>, officially launched the Association Chimie du V\u00e9g\u00e9tal (ACDV), of which they are the founding members.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Its purpose: To bring major economic actors together in agro-resources, chemistry and their downstream industries in order to accelerate industrial development of vegetal-based chemistry in France and in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>For Pascal Barth\u00e9lemy, director of external relations at Rhodia and President of the association, &#8220;ACDV is not inventing vegetal-based chemistry, as this has existed for a very long time now. Historically speaking, it is the first &#8220;industrial&#8221; chemistry, before coal, even.
