The partnership marks a significant milestone in the advancement of bioplastic technology and includes, for example, PTT MCC utilizing Nordic Bioproducts Group\u2019s cellulosic fibers as an ingredient in its innovative bioplastic product called BioPBS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The joint development project is focused on creating next-generation bioplastics, specifically new grades of BioPBS (Bio-Polybutylene succinate) that leverage Nordic Bioproduct Group\u2019s biomaterial expertise and integrate its advanced cellulosic materials, such as its sustainable activated cellulose fibers. The project will prioritize the development of \u2018home compostable\u2019 materials, targeting single-use products such as coffee capsules, cutlery, containers, plates, and mugs \u2013 enlarging the growing markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alliedmarketresearch.com\/coffee-capsules-market-A32603\">coffee capsule market<\/a>\u00a0is expected to grow to USD 11.9 billion by 2032, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessresearchcompany.com\/report\/coffee-capsule-global-market-report\">Asia Pacific being the largest market<\/a> for coffee capsules in 2023, followed by Western Europe. However, most capsules are produced from aluminum, which can be recycled but is not compostable. As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/environment.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/plastics\/single-use-plastics_en\">single-use packages<\/a>\u00a0more often end up in nature than recycling centers, ensuring their compostability is key to making the whole industry more environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NBG\u2019s activated cellulose fibers meet strict food container safety regulations and are uncompromising in quality and purity. They are derived from clean water and FSC-certified, traceable, sustainably managed forests in Finland, making them the perfect solution for the growing industry without compromising product quality or price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adb.org\/publications\/case-bioplastics-experience-thailand#:~:text=Noting%20Thailand%20is%20the%20world's,end%2Dof%2Dlife%20biodegradation\">Thailand is the world\u2019s second-largest producer of bioplastics<\/a>, with the local government supporting many initiatives helping the world move from plastics to biodegradable bioplastics.
