Experts who attended the meeting discussed about development of hemp industry.<\/p>\n<p>Experts stressed on development based on technical upgradation and merging hemp agriculture and hemp industry.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, Government should improve raw material quality, pace up technical upgradation and to introduce new technology.<\/p>\n<p>China cultivates 0.797 million hectares of hemp and its fibre processing output is around 0.6 million tons which is 10 percent of cotton fibre processing output.<\/p>\n<p>For next five years, hemp fibre processing output is expected to reach 1.5 million tons and its consumption will reach 20 percent of cotton fibre consumption.<\/p>\n<p>nova-comment: The given data are surprising, many natural fibre experts estimate a hemp cultivation area in China only between 50,000 &#8211; 100,000 ha.
