Hosted both in person in Cologne and virtually online, the event will delve into the sustainable future of textiles, emphasizing the shift from non-renewable to renewable fibres. The conference, scheduled for 13 and 14 March 2024, will transcend traditional textile applications, focusing on the ever-expanding cellulose-based nonwovens, packaging, and hygiene products. Sustainability takes center stage, with key topics including fibre-to-fibre recycling and alternative fibre sources. At the Maternushaus in Cologne, participants will have the opportunity to get in touch with the speakers. Following each session, a panel discussion will take place, allowing participants to pose questions through an online tool. The virtual experience enables chats and video calls with other online participants, but also participants on site, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors.

The conference, known for its exclusive focus on cellulose fibres in textiles, hygiene products, and packaging, attracted 220 participants from 27 countries last year. Interested participants for this year can follow those already registered via https://cellulose-fibres.eu/registration/

Explore the diverse exhibitors in the exhibition area, featuring a dedicated poster presentation booth. The poster session will take place during the lunch break on the second day of the conference. Short oral presentations will be given in front of the posters. Posters will also be accessible online on the conference homepage for those unable to attend in person.

As a highlight of the event, the nova-Institute will once again grant the prestigious “Cellulose Fibre Innovation of the Year” award, sponsored by GIG Karasek. The advisory board has already nominated six remarkable products, including cellulose fibres from textile waste and straw, a groundbreaking technology for dying cellulose-based textiles, and innovative construction panels and geotextiles. Companies will present these innovations on the first day of the event. All conference participants can cast their votes for one of the six nominees using the online voting tool, and the top three winners will be honoured with the “Cellulose Fibre Innovation of the Year” award.
