If endorsed by the Member States and the R&I community, the NEB Mission would be embedded in Horizon Europe with an\u00a0own work programme and substantial possibilities for R&I funding in the coming years. This is a great opportunity to raise\u00a0more awareness and gain more support for the codesign of biobased solutions.
The\u00a0Wood4Bauhaus Alliance\u00a0represents the European industry, research and innovation ecosystem around wood-based\u00a0materials and engineered products for construction. We wish to support to the EC\u2019s proposal to establish the NEB Mission\u00a0under Horizon Europe. In our view it can become an essential driver to speed up and to upscale the twin digital and green\u00a0transformation, notably of the built and living environment within the Circular Bioeconomy at large.
Find attached our support letter, which points out the important role that the NEB Mission can play for fostering biobased\u00a0materials and products in sustainable construction. It responds to the\u00a0NEB Mission working paper<\/a>\u00a0and gives specific\u00a0recommendations to shape the NEB Mission.\u00a0
The open letter is addressed to the\u00a0Permanent Representations of the EU countries\u00a0in Brussels and the\u00a0National science\u00a0ministries. These are currently debating the NEB Mission proposal in the EU Council and will be deciding soon whether this\u00a0can go forward. We are circulating the letter right now in our networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
