These substances are known to cause cancer and harm the reproductive system, among other health effects. The proposed rules follow the Agency\u2019s commitment in the draft\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/circulareconomy\/draft-national-strategy-prevent-plastic-pollution\" target=\"_blank\">National Strategy to Prevent Plastic Pollution<\/a>\u00a0to ensure that feedstocks made from plastic waste do not contain impurities and are part of EPA\u2019s overall efforts to reduce plastic pollution.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Federal Register notice and EPA\u2019s risk assessment of the 18 chemicals subject to the proposed SNURs are available under docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2023-0245 at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.regulations.gov\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.regulations.gov<\/a>.
