They will\u00a0work together in\u00a0the\u00a0market promotion, product development, and\u00a0research and development of new\u00a0technologies and applications\u00a0of biaxially oriented\u00a0polylactic\u00a0acid (BOPLA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThe bioplastic industry in China has seen tremendous growth with new\u00a0technological\u00a0breakthroughs in\u00a0biobased materials\u00a0after the country issued its manufacturing sector development plan known as Made in China 2025.\u00a0These innovations will contribute to the\u00a0worldwide\u00a0green transformation\u00a0and help China reach its goal of being\u00a0carbon-neutral\u00a0by 2060,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Mou Qingying,\u00a0Changsu Industrial\u2019s Vice President<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Changsu Industrial is a leading global player in high-performance specialty plastic films.\u00a0Changsu Industrial\u00a0focus on three major productm segments: new energy, biodegradable, and functional film materials.\u00a0The development of BOPLA is a good example of strong collaboration between different players in the value chain.\u00a0BOPLA is made with biobased PLA using biaxial\u00a0stretching technology, making Changsu Industrial&#8217;s BOPLA product BiONLY\u00ae biodegradable and capable of significantly reducing the carbon footprint of packaging materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Changsu Industrial\u00a0and TotalEnergies Corbion\u00a0are already working closely to bring sustainable solutions to the Chinese market. One key example is the development of\u00a0BOPLA-based\u00a0adhesive tapes made of Changsu\u2019s BiONLY\u00ae\u00a0that will\u00a0replace conventional\u00a0fossil-based\u00a0material and help provide a strong solution to\u00a0the\u00a0postal service in China. New regulations have already been announced to\u00a0encourage the adoption of biodegradable materials\u00a0in\u00a0the country&#8217;s\u00a0postal service by 2025\u00a0with\u00a0some cities\u00a0aiming\u00a0to achieve this earlier by\u00a0the\u00a0end of 2023.
