\u201dWoodio offers an ecological alternative to ceramic bathroom products. Based on an innovative wood composite material that we developed in 2017, we make design items such as washbasins, toilets, bathtubs, and wall panels which have considerably reduced CO2 footprint when compared to ceramic products.\u201d says Petro Lahtinen, the Founder and CEO of Woodio<\/strong>. \u201dOur mission is to change the traditional material norms used in bathrooms and kitchens.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Woodio Block toilet seat is made of solid wood composite and works the same way as any other toilet \u2013 however, having three significant advantages. The secret lies in the impact-resistant Woodio\u00ae material, making it practically unbreakable in normal use. Also, the surfaces are easy to keep clean because of the material\u2019s dirt-repellent coating. Thirdly, thanks to the high wood content of the material, the Block toilet feels warm on the skin to sit on. The toilet seat is suitable with most flushing systems on the market according to the EU standard EN 14055: 2010. The Woodio Block toilet seat is designed by Finnish Pentagon Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Finland has become a hotspot for new material innovations. The local companies have been successful in combining the latest technology and high-quality design to create new types of sustainable products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woodio\u00ae material technology is an innovative combination of wood and resin-based adhesives. The company\u00b4s patented cast molding technology does not use high amounts of water or high-temperature ovens to make the final product. The manufacturing process uses mostly renewable resources, including locally sourced aspen and side streams from the Finnish forest industry. All Woodio products are manufactured in Finland at Woodio\u2019s own factory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dThe demand for ecological products is growing rapidly. However, the bathroom sector has currently only been able to come up with solutions for reducing water consumption, but there has not been much progress in the material development side in this regard.\u201d Lahtinen<\/strong> says. \u201cIt is important to find responsible alternatives for household products that can be found in every home. That is why we created the Woodio toilet seat, even though it was the most challenging product we have developed so far. The learnings from this project have already opened up many product application possibilities for Woodio technology, that we will launch in the future.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Design Plus Awards, which Block Toilet seat has won, rewards future-proof products, which demonstrate an optimum combination of sustainability, aesthetic appeal and functionality and is one of the most prestigious and well-known awards in Germany. The Woodio Block toilet seat will be on display in ISH Frankfurt 13.-17.3.2023 in the Hall 3.0 and Place B95.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
