Swedish company UniCup Scandinavia AB wins in the category \u2018Packaging Materials and Components\u2019 with the LipLid, becoming world leader with its innovative and eco-friendly beverage lid. Winners of the World\u2019s Best Packaging awards are named by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) following in-depth examination and analysis. The judging panel was composed of 36 distinguished judges representing 36 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LipLid \u2013 the new drinking experience \u2013 is the winner in the \u2018Packaging Materials and Components\u2019 category. The panel\u2019s reasoning: \u201dLipLid is a winner because it is a better, safer and more enjoyable way to drink \u2018on the go\u2019. 100% recyclable and 100% bio-degradable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dThis is a fantastic acknowledgement of our innovative, climate-smart lid,\u201d says Jesper Berthold, CEO of UniCup Sweden, LipLid\u2019s producer. \u201dThis award shows that the world needs smart and functional alternatives to the plastic beverage lids that currently dominate the market.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The WPO is a non-profit, non-governmental, international federation of national packaging institutes and other interested parties, including corporations and trade associations.
